Marouane Chamakh signs for Arsenal

Arsenal have signed their first player of the season, Marouane Chamakh from french side Bordeaux. The 26 year old has been a long term target and they have finally managed to get him to put pen to paper on a long term contract for a free transfer. He signed on a free transfer because he was out of contract with the french club.

The Moroccan international made a total of 293 appearances, scoring 79 goals during his eight years with Bordeaux. Last Season he made 46 appearances scoring 16 goals.

Although Chamakh was born and raised in France he plays for the Moroccan national side.
He has made 53 caps, scoring 27 goals.
Maouane has chosen to wear the same shirt number as he did at Bordeaux which is the number 29 shirt.
This is how the side could look with Chamakh and without other players leaving or signing.

Arsenal's last 5 games of the season

Sorry I have not been able to do Arsenal's last 5 games of the season but here are the results from them.

14th April was our North London derby against Spurs. Tottenham won the game and effectivly knocked us out of the title race.

18th April was our unbelievable game against Wigan which we lost 3-2 after being 2-0 up.

24th April was the most boring game of the season when we played Man City. We drew 0-0.

3rd May was another bad day as we lost to Blackburn 2-1.

9th May was the last day of the season and we were back to winning ways as we thrashed Fulham 4-0 at the Emirates.

So Arsenal finished 3rd with an automatic place in the group stages of the Champions League. Also congratulations to Chelsea who were crowned Premiership champions.

That is not all the football though as I will provide with match reports of all of England's world cup matches and I will also bring you the inside info into all of Arsenal's summer transfers.
